Why Do I Raise The Flag?

Retired in 2013 after 5 years as an elementary school teacher and 40 years as a sales representative to begin anew as a school crossing guard. SMy essays/stories are a way to communicate through the telling of personal experiences.       2. Nice tradition it reminds me that I need a flag upgrade. Mine is getting faded. We spread flags around the side and front of our house, 40+ small flags.

      3. Unfortunately, displaying the flag is becoming a lost practice based on our neighborhood count. Although, there is a Russian emigrant family down the street who is flying the American flag. Good for them.
